Unmasking Money Addiction: The Spiritual Healing We All Need

We all know the typical signs of addiction —

Hiding our behavior.

Denying we have a problem.

And that awful guilt when we give in to temptation again.

We think of addiction as it relates to substances.

But the not-so-obvious addictions — the ones tied to money — often go unseen.

Or worse… normalized.

Much of our issues with addiction and money are the root cause to our need for spiritual healing

There are many of us carrying unhealthy patterns with money that we’ve rationalized —

patterns we call “necessary,”

but that quietly control us.

Let’s name a few:

🜃 Addicted to work

Always busy, always building — but what are we avoiding?

Often, this is a mask for unprocessed grief, discomfort in intimacy, or fear of stillness.

🜃 Addicted to spending

The rush of the purchase, the thrill of the package at the door — but what are we actually trying to feel?

This is often a quick fix for emptiness, pain, or powerlessness.

🜃 Addicted to the hustle

The chase. The production. The proving.

Rooted in the old belief that your worth is earned — only through what you produce, or how much you make.

🜃 Addicted to being broke

Yes — this too is a pattern.

When scarcity becomes familiar, even identity-level.

When “poor me” keeps us safe from having to face what abundance might actually ask of us.

These are the addictions no one talks about.

And they’re everywhere.

But here’s the truth:

None of this started with you.

This has been passed down.

Through family.

Through religion.

Through media.

Through rituals of programming so subtle, so repeated, you thought they were you.

But they aren’t.

And now, the invitation is this:

To open the portal of your own shadows.

To stop serving systems that were never meant to serve you.
